TUPE stands for Transfer of Undertaking (Protection of Employment) and refers to legislation applicable to most new contracts where our client already has a cleaning team in place. The legislation protects the rights of your existing cleaning team, including their terms and conditions and length of service. Should you appoint Adapt to manage your cleaning service, the current cleaning team would be offered the opportunity to transfer their employment to us.
If you were really happy with the cleaners but less so with the management and support they received, we could take over the contract and offer the cleaners the infrastructure and management attention they need, whilst everything else, including their pay, hours and entitlements, remains unaffected.
Yes, each client has at least a monthly audit carried out on site by their contract manager to make sure the cleaning is at the highest standard. We welcome clients that wish to join us during the audit inspection, but full copies of the audit results, including accompanying photographs will be emailed to the client for their records and consideration.
Yes, we offer deep cleans and carpet cleans to all our existing clients who we service on a daily basis.
Yes, all our health and safety is done by our health and safety manager, Tony Cosham. We supply each client with coshh, rams, health & safety and all insurance documents.
Yes, Adapt is continuously looking at way to become more environmentally friendly. We continually work with our supplier network to minimise the environmental impact of our service, from fewer deliveries to better manufacturing processes and plant-based chemicals.
Our business is already Carbon Neutral and rapidly moving towards Net Zero by 2030. We’re going to achieve this through efficient movements of both our extensive management team and delivery network, utilising electric vehicles and renewable energy at our offices as well as planting trees to remove carbon dioxide from our atmosphere throughout our operating areas.
This is your choice and we’re delighted to offer clients this option. Every employee is paid at least the National Living Wage, set but the UK Government, but each client is given the option to pay the higher Living Wage rate, set by the Living Wage Foundation. This is commonly referred to as the ‘Real Living Wage’.
We track time and attendance in real time using the Ezitracker system. Each operative logs the start and end of every shift by scanning a QR code with their mobile phone using the Ezitracker app. Their GPS location at the time is compared to that of the client site to ensure validity. This data is available to our management team in real time to monitor attendance at every site and feeds directly into our payroll software for automatic payroll.
Yes, in certain environments it is a requirement that our cleaners are vetted before being allowed on site. Some of our sites even require blood tests. We process any vetting you require along with renewing these checks when required.
No, all our recruitment is done internally and we don’t use any agency workers, temporary staff or zero hours contracts. All our operatives are employed directly by our company on permanent contracts.
Every stage of the recruitment and selection process is conducted by trained & experienced members of our management team. More information about our team can be found here.
Our Contract Management team adopt a very hands on approach so they will be on site at least once a week but more often than not it’s multiple visits to carry out welfare checks & training as well as checking in with clients. We also have mobile teams who attend site and compliance officers who make sure chemicals and equipment are being used correctly.
Depending on the size of the site our first protocol is to ask the current cleaning team to help out short term as they know the site best and more time than not cleaning operatives welcome overtime. Adapt cross train staff form other sites near you so if there is a sickness or holiday then these staff members can step in at short notice. This eradicates the need for inductions and site training. We also have mobile operatives who will step in to cover sickness and holidays, again these are based in the area so will be cross trained and inducted before hand.
We follow the TUPE process by law so the latest is 28 days however on many occasions if there is no TUPE transfer we can start almost immediately due to our coverage and staffing model.
